So I'm staging my own award show: The Marthas. All Martha categories, all the time. Why? Because I want to.
BEST LINE: Family of Blood: "Oh, d'you think? Bones of the hand. Carpal bones, proximal row: scaphoid, lunate, triquetral, pisiform. Distal row: trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, hamate. Then the metacarpal bones extending in three distinct phalanges: proximal, middle, distal." Never has anyone said "Screw you" quite so effectively in Latin.
OTHER BEST LINE: Doctor: "We might die." Martha. "We might not." Three words that say it all.
MOST UNFLAPPABLE MOMENT: Reassuring a frightened Doctor in 42. Because when the Doctor is panicking, you know it's bad.
OTHER THAN THAT: Looking out at the moon and saying with pure joy, "We're on the moon. We're on the bloody moon! " Every person watching wanted to be her and not her panicking friend.
COOLEST MOMENT: Hopping the security desk in high heels and a dress in Lazarus Experiment. It just is.
SWEETEST MOMENT: Getting Chantho not to say "Chan." Awwwww.
BEST EYE CONTACT MOMENT: With the Doctor when listening to his hearts in Smith and Jones. That's not biology, it's chemistry.
BEST HUG: At the end of 42.
OTHER THAN THAT: End of Famiy of Blood.
OTHER THAN THAT: End of Lazarus Experiment.
OTHER THAN THAT: End of End of Last of the Time Lords.
(Note from judges: The "Best Hug" category has been withdrawn because every nominee wins.)
MOST SELFLESS ACT OTHER THAN SAVING THE WORLD: Offering to go talk to Joan at the end of Family of Blood. For someone with a crush, Martha is pretty damn mature.
GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: Saving the world in Last of the Time Lords.
OTHER THAN THAT: Getting the Doctor to tell her the truth about Gallifrey in Gridlock.
OTHER THAN THAT, TOO: Pissing off the Master. And not getting killed for it.
So -- other winners in these categories? Other categories?
