Both for the 365days_fiction ficathon.

Title: October Third (Hero Worship)
Characters/Pairing: Martha
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Up to "The Sound of Drums."
Date Chosen: October Third
Summary: Martha Jones doesn’t think of herself as a hero.
Author's Note: Huge thanks to eponymous_rose for her beta help!

Never in her past life did she imagine that she would have an opportunity to be one, all those months ago when she had still been ordinary.

Title: January Second (Present Weather Conditions)
Characters/Pairing: Martha
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Up to "The Sound of Drums."
Date Chosen: January Seacond
Summary: There was nothing pleasant about traveling across the Russian tundra in the dead of winter, despite what the merrymaking Russian branch of the resistance had said.

Not that Martha could completely blame them for their false optimism.

pie_is_good has been following the status of the fic posting and the 365days_fiction comm and learned that the mod has deleted her lj. Since the community was on moderated status this means it is most likely dead. However, she has graciously taken on the task of recreating the community and challenge (with whatever assistance I can offer) and new information will be coming soon on posting and filling in the remaining days.

This was such an awesome challenge it seems a shame to let it wither on the vine, so hang onto those fics! If you haven't signed up for this amazing challenge, take a look at the concept over at the original comm and stay tuned. There are more days to fill in "the year that wasn't".

Connecting - 1969

Title: Connecting - 1969
Author: Persiflage_1
Characters/Pairing: Tenth Doctor/Martha
Rating: NC-17
Spoilers: Human Nature/Family of Blood, but it's set in 1969.
Summary: This is the requested sequel to the "missing scene" story "So Beautiful" in which the Doctor confronts Martha's boss and they have an interesting picnic.
Disclaimer: The BBC owns "Doctor Who" - if they didn't, Martha wouldn't have been banished to Cardiff !
Author Notes: This story is pretty angsty – rather more than I expected when I started writing. It's also told very much from Martha's PoV. There's a reference to Classic Who lore in the conversation Ten has with Martha towards the end of the story when he mentions a subject he was taught at the Academy.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find Ten's (and David Tennant's) smiles absolutely contagious.

Oh and I'm beginning to think I have a thing about Ten and Martha having picnics !

When Martha woke the next morning she wasn't surprised to find the Doctor was not beside her, although she was a little disappointed. She chided herself sternly, though: the Doctor had told her more than once that he rarely slept, he was probably working on his timey-wimey device as she called it.

She sat up and looked at the clock, wondering whether there was time to talk to him about what had happened the night before. Given his habit of brushing off any conversations that could be construed as emotional, however, it would probably only take 30 seconds or a minute at the most.

The bedroom door opened and she looked up to see the Doctor backing into the room with a tray in both hands. He swung round and smiled at her – one of his smiles of genuine warmth and affection that she loved to get from him.
